The West African Oil & Gas Awards, 2020 is the inaugural edition of what will thereafter be an annual event, which aims to identify and publicly recognize oil and gas industry operators across the West African sub region. The awards are being established to serve as a guide for West African countries as to which oil and gas industry operators excel within the sub region and therefore deserve to be welcomed by countries as thy expand their upstream and downstream market segments.

The awards are being organized by The Business Executive magazine, a monthly magazine published from Accra Ghana since 2012, which covers economy, business, finance and socio economic development issues across the sub region. The magazine is the flagship product of a media group which also has an outstanding track record of success with regards to organizing and hosting special corporate/institutional events including awards schemes, business/corporate summits, conferences and other fora. The upcoming oil and gas awards will cover countries in the sub region that host upstream exploration and production activity. However the awards will be extended to cover categories of downstream activity in those countries as well. The awards selection process will cover nominations, verification, shortlisting, and finally an awards selection jury that will decide on the actual winners in each category.

The awards will be conferred on the selected winners at a red carpet awards conferment ceremony scheduled for later this year at a venue to be announced shortly.
